Condo owners should check with building management before any work that connects to a water line. On our visit we look at team or household size, where the unit will go and how it will be used, then handle installation, maintenance, filter replacement and repair.
Water in the City of Miami
The City of Miami does not run its own treatment plant. It relies on county-operated treatment from Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD), which draws mostly from the Biscayne Aquifer, softens the water with lime and disinfects it with chloramine.
Once a year WASD switches to free chlorine for about two weeks to clean the distribution system, and some customers notice a chlorine taste or smell during that stretch.
