Each year the city switches from chloramine to chlorine for 21 days. It says residents might notice a slight chlorine odor during that period and recommends storing drinking water in an open container for a few hours.
Storm season is a separate matter: Palm Beach County advises keeping at least five days of water on hand, and a bottleless cooler depends on power and water pressure, so plan on stored water as well.
